Paul is a Designated Member of APFS Financial Solutions LLP and has been involved with APFS at management level since its inception in 1987.

He has over 30 years experience in the Financial Services sector having worked for a bank, a building society, a pensions and investment company and an Independent Financial Adviser company.

In addition to being a genaral practitioner IFA, he is also a pension transfer specialist and is a Chartered Financial Planner which is the highest qualification currently avaialable in the independent financial advisory profession.

Paul has a particular expertise in connection with the analysis of businesses and business protection and markets a specialised service called 'Business Wills' which offers general business health checks and assists Directors and Partners in meeting their statutory obligations and identifying & protecting against structural weaknesses in their businesses.

Paul has been appointed a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers, an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute, an Associate of the Personal Finance Society and a Fellow of the Royal Society for Arts.

He is married with two Sons.

Paul engages in many varied activities outside work but has never really been captured by 'traditional' pastimes. Amongst other things, he engages in private flying (he is one of the few pilots who has flown in a Spitfire) and has flown an array of different aircraft including a 1943 Harvard WWII fighter/trainer. Other activities include rifle shooting, parachuting and motorcycling. He tries to keep fit and ran a Marathon in September 2008. Having come to enjoy the isolation and introspection possible when running, he now routinely runs a significant distance each week. Fortunately, alcohol, TV, a sedentary, desk-based job and pizza prevent him from getting too fit!
